Re: Underwater Rescue of the Whalehouse Point Ferry
On Thursday in the middle of the afternoon, The Bellport Fire Department came to the rescue of our ferry boat. The culprit was a crab trap and rebar, which had wrapped its way around a propeller.
The Village is so thankful for our Fire Department’s tireless efforts to get the ferry running again, as there were beach goers who were stranded at Ho Hum. In particular, we want to thank Chief David Didio, Anthony Didio, Teddy Hermus, Ron Moscolino, and especially the divers Dan Polner and Al Roe.
Again, kudos and many thanks to our first responders; as always your help is very, very much appreciated.
