PUBLIC NOTICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to Section 20(5) of the Municipal Home Rule

Law, a public hearing will be held by the Village Board of Trustees of the Village of Bellport at 7:00 pm at the Bellport Community Center located at 4 Bell St., Bellport, New York, on the 23rd day of September, 2019, at 7:00 p.m., to consider enacting the following proposed Introductory Local Law:

INTRODUCTORY LOCAL LAW #   3     OF 2019

AMENDING CHAPTER 12 OF THE CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF BELLPORT

ENTITLED, “MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC”, BY REMOVING LANGUAGE TO ARTICLE XXI “TRAFFIC SCHEDULES” SECTION 12-505 “PARKING PROHIBITED AT ALL TIMES”

SUMMARY

The proposed local law would amend Chapter 12 of the Code of the Village of Bellport “Motor Vehicle and Traffic”, by removing the stop sign located at the intersection of Bellport Lane and Maple Street from Article XXI Section 12-505 entitled “Parking prohibited at all times”.

The proposed amendment would prohibit parking along the North side of County Road 36 between the Town of Brookhaven/Village of Bellport boarder and Country Club Road.

This is a summary of the proposed Local Law, a fully copy of which is on file in the

Village Clerk’s Office and is available for inspection during regular Village business hours.

At said public hearing, any persons interested shall be given the opportunity to be

heard.
