NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to Section 20(5) of the Municipal Home Rule Law, a public hearing will be held by the Village Board of Trustees of the Village of Bellport at 7:00 pm via Zoom Webinar, link to the meeting can be found at www.bellportvillageny.gov, on the 25th day of January, 2021, at 7:00 p.m., to consider enacting the following proposed Introductory Local Law:
INTRODUCTORY LOCAL LAW # 1 OF 2021
AMENDING CHAPTER 12 OF THE CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF BELLPORT
ENTITLED, “MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC” ARTICLE VI “MUNICIPAL PARKING LOTS.”
SUMMARY
The proposed local law would amend Chapter 12 of the Code of the Village of Bellport “Motor Vehicles and Traffic” Article VI “Municipal Parking Lots”, to prohibit parking in the municipal parking lot between 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. all year.
This is a summary of the proposed Local Law, a fully copy of which is on file in the Village Clerk’s Office and is available for inspection during regular Village business hours.
At said public hearing, any persons interested shall be given the opportunity to be heard.

INTRODUCTORY LOCAL LAW # OF 2021
AMENDING CHAPTER 12 OF THE CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF BELLPORT ENTITLED, “MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC” ARTICLE VI “MUNICIPAL PARKING LOTS.”
Section 1. Legislative Intent. This Local Law would amend the code to prohibit parking in the municipal parking lot between 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. all year.
Section 2. Text Amendment. The proposed local law would amend Chapter 12 of the Code of the Village of Bellport “Motor Vehicles and Traffic” Article VI “Municipal Parking Lots”, by adding the underlined (____) words and deleting the striked out words ( ) as follows:
Chapter 12- Motor Vehicles and Traffic
Article VI.- Municipal Parking Lots
Sec. 12-155 – Time limits.
No motor vehicle shall be parked in the municipal parking lot:
(1) For more than twenty-four (24) consecutive hours.
(2) Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., in the parking spots, designated for permit parking and located at the easternmost part of the municipal parking lot, unless said motor vehicle has a parking permit issued by the village clerk. All vehicles having a valid parking permit shall park, between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., only in those parking spots designated for permit parking.
(3) Between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. from December 1 to March 31, except those motor vehicles that have valid parking permits.
Section 3. Severability. If any clause, sentence, paragraph, section, article, chapter or part of this local shall be adjudged by any court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such judgment shall not affect, impair or invalidate the remainder thereof but shall be confined in its operation to the clause, sentence, paragraph, section, article, chapter or part thereof directly involved in the controversy in which such judgment shall have been rendered.
Section 4. Authority to enact pursuant to Municipal Home Rule Law § 10 and § 20.
Section 5. This local law shall become effective immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State of the State of New York.
