NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION
SUBJECT TO A PERMISSIVE REFERENDUM
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT, at a meeting held on 22nd day of April 2024, the Board Trustees of the Village of Bellport, New York duly adopted a resolution, an abstract of which follows, which resolution is subject to a permissive referendum pursuant to Section 3-302(5)(a) of the New York State Village Law. If after thirty days of the resolution’s adoption by the Board of Trustees, no petition objecting to the resolution and requesting approval by the voters is filed with the Village Clerk, the resolution will be declared duly adopted.
ABSTRACT OF RESOLUTION DATED APRIL 22, 2024
The following is a summary of a resolution adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Bellport on April 22, 2024. Said resolution changes the term of the office of the Mayor of the Village of Bellport from two (2) years to four (4) years and changes the term of the office of Trustee of the Village of Bellport from two (2) years to four (4) years. The four-year terms shall commence for each Village Trustee position and for the Village Mayor position at 12 noon on the First Monday following the next general election at which the office of said Trustee of the Village of Bellport or Mayor of the Village of Bellport is to be filed.
