A powerful nor’easter is forecast to impact Long Island this weekend, bringing heavy rain, high winds with gusts up to 60 mph along the coastline, and the potential for widespread minor to moderate coastal flooding. Given the expected conditions, particularly the high winds and sea state, we urge all boaters, if you are not planning on pulling your boat out of the marina, to immediately check their vessels to ensure they are properly secured, double-check all lines and remove any items that could become airborne.
Additionally, PSEG Long Island is prepared for potential outages due to the storm’s intensity and encourages customers to prepare as well; to report an outage or downed wire, call their 24-hour Electric Service number at 800-490-0075. Customers can utilize the PSEG Long Island Mobile app, to register, text REG to PSEGLI (773454). Once registered, to report an outage, simply text OUT to PSEGLI (773454), or view the MyPower map available on their website at psegliny.com/outages. Remember to stay at least 30 feet away from any downed wires and call 911 to report them.
