The Incorporated Village of Bellport is accepting resumes for the position of Village Clerk; Candidates should have the following qualifications;
Experience:
- The ability to work with other governmental officials
- Knowledge and understanding of Village Law in New York State
- The ability to work with a governing board
- Experience in Grant Writing, both competitive and entitlement grants
- Excellent communications skills both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills
- Proven Management and Supervisory skills
- The ability to oversee and direct all village operations including proprietary businesses
- Experience in Municipal Government is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate all functions of the Village to continually improve efficiency
- Supervise all the Village activities and employees except, Village Attorney, Treasurer and Village Justice
- Produce reports that will be presented to the Board of Trustees and residents when necessary
- Ensure that the laws of the State and Village are executed
